Harley-Davidson: Bike Parade and its new 2012 motorbike collection launch in Dubai

It was a great sunny afternoon at 4pm and Royal Edge visited the Enoc petrol station at Al Wasl road in Dubai and spotted the group of cool Harleys standing on the parking area of the petrol station. The whole petrol station was packed with bikes and the bikers. The get together proved to have a STAR effect, the spectators were busy taking photographs while having their petrol tanks filled up. The bikers did pose around too. Nevertheless, they were extremely gracious on having their pictures taken!. Not only Harleys were participating in the bike parade but there were also sports Suzukis, Yamahas and Kawasakis taking part in the bike parade which was organized by the Harley-Davidson dealership for their launch of brand spanking new 2012 Harley motorbike collections. The Royal Edge team was glad to be there with the biker crowd.

Royal Edge took some great shots of the bikers with their beloved two wheelers during the bikers meeting at Al Wasl petrol station.

The bike parade started from Al Wasl petrol station to the Harley-Davidson dealership in Sheikh Zayed Road. It was a truly great experience to ride with the bunch of riders towards the Harley showroom at Sheikh Zayed Road.

At the Harley-Davidson showroom there were a lot of festivities which added a lot of fun to its launch of the new 2012 Harley motorbikes collection. They had organised a lot of giveaways and raffle draws which made the whole event awesome.

Fast and Fabulous: Leslie Porterfield

In the video below Leslie is posing for Markus Hofmann, she wears Haute Couture fashion and is joined by a BMW S1000RR.

Leslie Porterfield has appeared in the Spring 2010 BMW Motorcycle Magazine and she absolutely rocks!

This hot and fearless woman is acknowledged as the ''Speed Queen'' or the ''Dallas Diva'' and has a burning ambition to have a top record to become the worlds fastest person on a motorbike.

Her official speed of 232 miles per hour at Bonneville salt flats got her a title in the Guinness book of world records. Acheiving her dream would mean she will have to beat the speed of 254 miles per hour- her hard core training could mean she would best this speed anytime soon!

She has had speeding tickets when she was young and a major accident in 2007 that broke her ribs, punctured her lungs and had a concussion. Hurdles did not keep her out of track, but she rose up with great confidence though her body was broken, rebuilt her motorbike and honoured herself with a new record in the year 2008 as 209 miles per hour.

Porterfield said. "The first woman on a motorcycle to do so, which is a huge accomplishment."

The fast and fabulous Leslie Porterfield is the World’s fastest woman on a motorcycle (confirmed by Guinness World Records) after a 234 mph average speed run at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in September 2009.

Leslie holds 3 production records (SCTA, AMA, and FIM) aboard the Sir Speedy Honda CBR1000. Leslie Porterfield has had a road of success and has been selected to pilot the North American Eagle jet car in an effort to break the current land speed record of 763 mph (Mach 1.02). This vehicle is literally a land rocket, modified with a Lockheed F-104 jet engine and capable of exceeding the speed of sound. (We thank Sir Speedy's website for her current information).

This gorgeous lady has a gracious boyfriend who does not mind when she beats him on a motorbike because he knows she is faster than him. Her family life has had little time - but they are always there for utmost support.

The Most Dangerous Roads of our beloved U.A.E.

During a meeting held to evaluate the performance of the Dubai Traffic Department in the year 2010 lots of initiatives were taken to reduce the death rate in traffic accidents to zero for 100,000 population by the year 2020. The rate of serious accidents decreased in 2010 compared to 2009 bringing down the traffic death indicator for each 100,000 of the population from 8 to 12.7. The report sounds optimistic but still is a high death toll.

Middle East is the only region in the world where severity of safety is an issue. The fatality record is far worse than lower income countries in terms of traffic accidents. According to the top two motorcycle accident studies (Hurt and MAIDS), a motorcyclist is three times more likely to experience a crash than a four-wheeled motorist. If you are taking the tasty curve too fast you are more likely to be toppled by a car who will be found calling ''I NEVER SAW HIM!!.......

We say this with awe that in the UAE the traffic accidents are responsible for deaths after cardiovascular diseases. The Global Status report confirms the UAE roads to be the deadliest in the world (2011). We believe the sole reason for this is not generally the roads or signage, it is more to do with people who do not adhere to the speed limit laws and exceed their speed limits, usage of mobile phone and not checking their side mirrors while a motorcyclist would be right behind them.

Ther most dangerous road in Dubai is the Emirates Road- especially from National paints towards Dubai. There is no walkway for pedestrians causing a lot of instant deaths.

The other most dangerous is Shaikh Zayed road which has had an alarming number of fatal accidents during recent years.

In Abu Dhabi, Intersection of Airport road and Hamdan street.

Al Ain Highway- dangerous maneuver and high speeding.

Royal Edge's all time favourite motorbike movies

The Wild One

One of the best classic motorbike movies, Marlin Brondo plays ''Johnny'', leader of the Black Rebels motorbike club (The iconic style of his jacket is known as Marlon Brondo and is still a favorite among riders today). He rides with his gang to town and gets involved with a rival biker gang, here things get out of hand. His love interest in the movie is a local town girl, Mary Murphy. This movie is also famous for a quote where a local girl asks Johnny ''What are you rebelling against Johnny?'', he answers ''Whaddaya got''. Most of the movie clips are present on Youtube. We believe this black and white movie is not going to make anyone disappointed.

Girl on a Motorcycle

A story of an adventerous young beautiful woman who finds freedom on her beloved 2 wheels. It has got gorgeous footage of the European countryside. This action movie gathered a fair deal of attention because of her.

Ghost Rider

A story of a stunt motorcyclist who sells his soul to the Devil to transform to Ghost Rider. Expect a lot of fictional fantasy in the movie and watch Nicholas Cage deliver his favorite quote- ''You can't live with fear''.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

The tough bikers unite to rob a corrupt bank to help an old friend from losing his bar. Unfortunately, they get tangled in a robbery of a synthetic drug and end up being targetted by criminal bankers and killers of the drug mob.

Grease 2

An American musical film where Micheal buys a motorbike to win the affection of a girl named Stephanie who has a specific vision of her ideal man (Cool Rider). Expect a lot of gang fights and a happily ever after ending for all characters in the movie.

Stone

Members of the Grave Diggers Motorcycle Club are being knocked off one by one, and someone needs to find out why! Sandy Hurbutt's timeless Australian cult film about a bunch of renegades riding Kawasaki 900s. A must watch for Kawasaki Lovers!!!
